Petra is specially designed to handle applications with a very high solids content, such as grinding and polishing applications, machining of cast iron and heat-treatment (quench oil) applications.
Petra has a capacity of 700 cfm (1 000 m3/h) and can easily be installed on top of most machine tools. This saves floor space and eliminates unnecessary pipe work and expensive pipe maintenance, which is quite important in these types of applications where a great deal of the solid particles drop out in the pipes. It also makes it easier to move the machine tool when production requirements change.
Like other 3nine products, Petra is a purely centrifugal separator, so its maintenance requirements are minimal. With a unique technology of rotating internal plates, the oil mist and particles are much more efficiently separated than with traditional centrifugal separation technologies, such as cyclones and rotating filters.
